ACTION COMMUNITY & ENTERPRISE
Action Community & Enterprise Ltd, is a local Community Development Company that delivers enterprise training and facilities to aid the development of the local economy. The ACE Board, management and staff members, are committed to assisting individuals, communities and organisation from Clondalkin in realising opportunities in local business.
Action Community & Enterprise Ltd (ACE) was incorporated in 2009. Our strategy is underpinned by a sound community approach, where the focus in on supporting the local community by using the success of enterprise to develop community opportunities.
Mission Statement
To provide certified training to potential and existing entrepreneurs thereby assisting them to acquire skills, knowledge and competencies needed to start, manage and develop an enterprise We will work with local and national agencies, employers, community, and other stakeholders to identify training needs especially of those who are unemployed or are non-nationals, and wish to become self employed or start their own business. We will endeavour to build lasting relationships with learners thereby encouraging them to undertake lifelong learning. We will provide advice and support as well as training to potential or existing entrepreneurs. We are an organisation funded through rents from enterprise workspace, funding for specific enterprise development actions e.g. South Dublin County Enterprise Board
History
Enterprise Action Ltd and Bawnogue Enterprise & Community Centre Ltd amalgamated in an effort to strengthen their joint positions within the community of Clondalkin and to focus on the development of small enterprise as well as build a stronger community service programme and enterprise development initiatives.
The objectives of Action Community & Enterprise is to advise, assist and support individuals and groups wishing to set up and/or develop their own small business and to promote enterprise development in the Clondalkin and South Dublin County area.
Since its formation in 1995 Action Community and Enterprise has assisted over 2000 clients, of which almost 1000 have gone on to start their own business. In addition its Community Enterprise division has assisted a wide range of community based Social Economy projects.
Almost all Action Community Enterprise services are free of charge to individuals and community groups. Charges are levied for services such as consultancy and contract training.
Starting and Expanding Business
This large centre is part of the Bawnogue Enterprise and Community Centre complex on the Bawnogue Road. Only 10 minutes from the M50 the centre comprises 44 units, both offices and workshops, ranging from 110 to 720 sq. ft. Action Community & Enterprise is a modern business complex, providing a quality range of office accommodation and industrial units as well as conference, meeting and training facilities. Situated inn South West Clondalkin, Action Community & Enterprise sole objective is creating a local enterprise agency for Clondalkin.
Our Aims
Our aims are to promote the creation of new small businesses, assist with the development of existing small business and provide business accommodation facilities for a range of professional, social, charitable organisations based in Clondalkin.
Accommodation
The main building of Action Community & Enterprise houses a number of spacious office units which are occupied by a diverse range of small business operations. There is also a large, bright conference room which can comfortably accommodate up to 60 people in a theatre-style layout, and two smaller training and meeting rooms. We also have a computer training room which is used to provide all our computer training programmes.

Computer drop in Centre
A Computer Drop in Centre is now available in the main building. I f you need access to the internet or just want to practice your computer skills why not use the drop-in -facility in Action Community & Enterprise. You need to be over 18 years of age, and you must book in advance at 4579662/4579663. The facility is available from 10am to 5pm.
Room Hire
The conference room is available for hire seven days a week at extremely competitive rates and are ideal for a wide range of activities including Conferences, seminars, training courses, meetings, brain storm sessions, interviews, press launches exhibitions.
Our staff are highly professional and can provide a complete business service including reception, secretarial, message handling , postal address service and security. We do not see the provision of services as a stand alone operation but regard it as our contribution to assisting in the success of your business. Our policy is that we are in partnership with our clients if they succeed, we succeed.
